Sajonia Estate Coffee and Green Coffee Production created Golden Attribute Competition, which is for a good coffee quality competition with a novel approach to quality evaluation. In the competition, the judgers evaluated the coffee at 10 different flavors of floral, fruity, caramel, chocolate, citrusy, funky, dairy, alcoholic, nuts, herbal and spices.
Representatives of both family-owned companies convened earlier this week at the Sajonia Mill in Matagalpa, where judges picked top coffees from among more than 100 competition samples. The organizers said that winning coffees feature “a spectrum” of post-harvest processing techniques and flavor profiles.
