Nowadays, it is being common to use coffee harvesting machines in the coffee industry, particularly in high coffee production countries as Brazil that we introduced. The use of machines can significantly increase efficiency and reduce labor costs. However, the use of coffee harvester machines can also have environmental impacts, such as soil compaction and damage to the coffee plants themselves.
Moreover, coffee harvesting machines cannot identify the conditions of coffee berries, so all coffee berries (including ripe and unripe) are collected at the same time. Then, the green coffee bean and the pulp will be separated for roasting and re-using at the same time too. Therefore, harvesting machines is the most economical way for collecting coffee beans and lower purchasing cost, but may not be the best way to create great coffee tasting.
